What it takes to worship God
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children
It takes knowledge of God to worship God, and the more you work with God the more you understand Him. It is written that God's way and thoughts are different from man's way and thoughts, so if one do not understand or has no knowledge of God, worshipping God for such maybe refer to mere religious exercise.
God is power, but one will never experience power if his or her understanding is not involved. The Bible says "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Roman 10:17)
For anyone to have or to grow in God's faith, such must give up his life for Jesus Christ in order to find it. Growing up in God's faith is spiritual as well as worshipping God.
So, if you have been worshipping God only with your mouth without your spirit or mind connected with Him, then you don't worship God.
God is spirit, so any time you want to relate with God either through prayer, praise, worship or in any other ways, you must do it in conjunction with the Holy Spirit. John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
PRAY THIS WEEK
* Holy spirit, I want you in my life. I just don't want you to come alone, please come and take over.
