Nothing on earth worth the trouble
1 Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Solomon was so blessed, but with all the blessings, wisdom and riches he called everything vanity.
Man must understand that everything under the sun is temporary.
Your position now is temporary, nothing last for ever but the word of God.
Struggling to satisfy the flesh is an aberration, there is no sense in trying to gather wealth here on earth.
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:" (Mtt 6:19-20)
Man must focus on things above and stop chasing the wind.
"For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?" (Ecclesiastes 6:12)
Man must understand that everything is vanity, nothing on earth is worth the trouble; working is torture, food is good for the body but it always has its own bad effect on the body, money can buy many things but it is the root of all evil, power is good but absolute power corrupt absolutely, water is good for the body but too much of it can make you sick.
You must give your life up to Jesus if you really want to find it.
PRAY THIS HYMN THIS WEEK
1. My life, my love, I give to Thee,
Thou Lamb of God, who died for me;
Oh, may I ever faithful be,
My Saviour and my God!
Chorus:
I'll live for Him who died for me,
How happy then my life shall be!
I'll live for Him who died for me,
My Saviour and my God!
2. I now believe Thou dost receive
For Thou hast died that I might live;
And now henceforth I'll trust in Thee,
My Saviour and my God!
3. O Thou who died on Calvary
To save my soul and make me free,
I'll consecrate my life to Thee,
My Saviour and my God!
Amen.
