Why nazareth?
Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
In the 8th century before Christ' birth, Isaiah prophesied that "a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit" (Isaiah 11:1). The word "branch" in Hebrew is netzer, the same root word from which the name "Nazareth" comes.
In the new testament, Matthew connects Nazareth with prophecy in Isaiah 11:1 "And came and resided in a city called Nazareth, that which was spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, 'He shall be called a Nazarene" (Matt 2:23).
Nazareth is located in a beautiful valley surrounded by the hills of Zebulon and joined on the west by the plain of Esdraelon.
Nazareth was the original small town. Archeological research suggests that in Jesus'day, only 120-150 people lived in Nazareth. In John 1:46 Nathaniel asked the famous question, "can anything good come out of Nazareth?" This tiny farming village, high on a hill and far from the main trade routes, was the last place anyone would look for the Messiah.
"The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone." (Psalm 118:22).
God is Wonderful! He always works in a mystical way, the proud and the wise men of this world will never comprehend His way, the preacher said, "I devoted myself to search for understanding and to explore by wisdom everything being done under heaven. I soon discovered that God has dealt a tragic existence to the human race." Only those who fear and respect God will always discern His movement, "Respect and obey the LORD! this is the first step to wisdom and good sense." (Psalm 111:1).
The Bible says, "Jesus cried over Jerusalem" because she knew not the time of her visitation, when she rejected her prince of peace, she was doomed in the throes of war.
God always has a plan in place for every generation, man must make peace with God and prayed for understanding in order to take part in God's agenda for his generation
