The vanity of life

Isaiah 14:11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"

Our Lord Jesus Christ asked this very question when He notice that man had been blinded and he cherish the mundane things of this world than his own soul.

King Solomon asked a question that relates to the above question, "what is there to show for all of our hard work here on this earth?" Ecclesiastes 1:3

King Solomon was so blessed with wisdom and understanding but he was confused about life, because he realized that everything is vanity, nothing is more important than your soul, your soul is priceless; if God can send Christ to die for it, then it is more important than anything the devil may offer in exchange for it. devil will first offer you bread in exchange of your soul, but if you realized that your soul is more important than food you will decline his offer but he will not give up there, he will went further and offer you power and if you still reject him, he will now offer you riches of the world; the riches that will not last, but if you still trust God more than anything that the devil may offer then your soul will be secured.

Many believers had traded their souls for bread, many had traded it for power, and many had traded their souls for the riches of the world but when the end comes they will have nothing to boast about; their pride and their music will end in the world of the dead. But those who wait upon the LORD, God will renew their strength and they will have nothing to regret.

PRAY THIS WEEK

Heavenly Father, please overshadow my life with your spirit, I don't want to regret in the end. Grant me grace to wait till Jesus comes. Amen
