The Appointment Of The Kingdom
Luke 22:28-29 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
Pontius Pilate asked Jesus if He was the king of Jews and Jesus responded with a qualified statement, "you say that I am."
It is recorded in the book of Isaiah chapter 9 verse 6, "for to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulder. And He will be called wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, prince of peace.
Jesus is the king of glory and His government is not of this world, the Bible referred Him as everlasting Father which means His kingdom will never end; the kings of this world will rules but for awhile but kings in the life to come the life eternal will rules forever.
When God created man He gave him authority to rule over the earth but when he sin the kingdom was snatched from him by the devil but when Christ came He redeemed the kingdom back; Jesus fought the devil through temptations and by His death and resurrection He claimed back the kingdom and hand it over to man.
Man was primarily designed to rule and not to serve, but sin had made him a slave but the price had been paid but man must live by Christ in order for him to rule like king.
Believers are kings, but their kingdom is not of this condemned world; this world had been judged already, that is why good things do not naturally find expression on it.
Believers must not glory in the mundane things of this world. In fact, a genuine born again Christian should not take pride in the earthly possessions; as heirs of God's glory in Christ Jesus we must zero our minds on the things above but the only way to do that is to allow the Spirit of God to rule our lives.
PRAY THIS WEEK
