The Green And The Dry Tree

 Luke 23:31  For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

Sin is poisonous, it is dangerous, and deadly. All the problems in the world today were caused by sin; sicknesses, kidnapping, death, earthquake, flooding, killing, draught, poverty, blindness, epidemic, pandemic, and all kinds of evil are the stings of sin.

Jesus saw the danger that would befall Him because of the burden of man's sin, He prayed that the cup of suffering and wrath should be taken from Him, but never the less He submitted to the will of the Father. He was hated and rejected, He was wounded and crushed because of our sins. Seen this, the Bible recorded that a lot of women were crying and weeping for Him. But Jesus turned to them and called their attention to what will befall sinners who refused to take the advantage of salvation, "Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children.For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’ Then

“‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!”

    and to the hills, “Cover us!” Luke 23:28-30

Jesus tagged that moment "the hour of darkness"

He said that the tree is still green now, which means that the hour is coming that darkness will take control, but before that time the savior will come and take His own people with Him. Those who reject Christ now and lives in their sins will face more horrible things that is more than the one that the Messiah faced because of our sins. An hour is coming after the rapture, that hour is what Jesus referred to as the time when the green tree will dry; this time, darkness will rules for a very long time and the victims of that moment will say to the mountains, "fall on us!", they will say to the hills, "hide us!" Because no human will be able to withstand the peril that will befall them, that is why you need to give your life to Christ now so that you would reign with Him by grace.
