Productive Prayer
Matthew 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Prayer is a means of communication between the mortal and the immortal being.
It is recorded in the scripture that Jesus prayed consistently, that proves that for Him to communicate with the Father, He must engaged in prayer because the Father is in heaven and the Son was still on the earth, the Son was still in the flesh and the Father is Spirit. So, for any mortal being to interact with God, he must pray in the spirit.
"Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." James 4:3
Prayer is not just a spiritual exercise, it is an act of communicating with God in an orderly manner. The reason why you have not yet get feedback on your long time prayers as a lot to do with the way you pray.
The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, "One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” Luke 11:1
Christians are not the only one that prays, other religion believers pray to their gods too, but Christians must pray in a certain manner in order to get feedback from God, "Luke 11:2-4"
As a Christian, it is a must for you to pray in the spirit; the prayer you made in the spirit would be ordered by the Spirit of God, and the contents of your prayer will not based on what the flesh desires. This kind of prayer will be answer instantly because you pray according to the will of the Father.
